4. Undergraduate admission: HDU’s admission is implemented under two forms
- Form 1: based on academic outcomes of National Entrance Exam (2017, 2018, 2019)
- Form 2: based on high school academic transcripts
HDU organizes the examination for students who apply for art and sports programs (reading expressively and singing, on site jumping and 100m running).

b) Admission quantity: 20 students/program
c) Admission requirements:
Based on outcomes of National Entrance Exam 2018:
- Candidates have an aggregate of 3 selected exams/subjects of 24,0 or higher (no subject under 5.0) in National Higher Education Entrance Examination, of which the core subject (in bold) reaches at least 8,0
- GPA of three high school years is classified at least good
- Admission score is the total of three exams/subjects on a scale of 10 and the priority points in accordance with each individual and region as prescribed.
- Direct selection (no more than 30% of each program’s admission quantity):
+ For students winning international and national prizes (first, second, third) for registered subjects.
+ Graduates from high schools for the gifted apply for programs in accordance with their major or prizes. GPA of three high school years is very good or wining first, second or third prizes in academic contests at the provincial
level or higher.
Order for direct selection: top down from international/national/provincial prizes and from first/second/third prizes
- Selection is based on exam scores under admission quantity of each program. (if candidates are the same admission score, priority is given to candidates with higher core subject’s score).

- Apply the admission from associate’s degree to bachelor’s degree for all programs except for 05 programs: Economics, Natural resources and environment management, tourism, land management, English language.
Candidates enroll in National Entrance Exam 2019 in line with the admission subject groups of transitional study programs; examination enrolment as individual candidates
- Notice:
+ HDU uses English language score in National Higher Education Entrance Examination to admit candidates to associate’s and bachelor’s programs if English is in registered subject groups
+ For programs in preschool education (7140201) and Physical education (7140206): talent score must reach at least 5,0 out of 10; candidates must have a good body (at least 1,65m and 1,55 in height for men and women respectively).
+ Candidates are admitted to HDU, after 1st term, if GPA is fairly good or higher, they are entitled to study 2nd study program (modules of 1st study program are maintained) so that students can receive two degrees after study.
4.3 talent examination: candidates enroll in the talent examination: reading expressively and singing (if they wish to apply for programs in preschool education and primary education) or on-site jumping and 100m running (if they wish to apply for the program in physical education); application form (attached appendix 1):
- Application time: 2nd April, 2019 – 15th June, 2019 at Division of training management
Examination time: 24th -27 June, 2019. If complementary talent examination is needed, HDU will publicize all necessary information on the mass media.
Application and examination schedules will be announced on the university website: htth://www.hdu.edu.vn.
4.4. Apply for admission
a) For the form of using the results of National Higher Education Entrance Examination
- Applied to all study programs
- Admission requirements (except for 4 high quality study programs including math education, physics education, literature education, and history education as specified in item b of 3.1) :
+ High school and associate’s degree graduation
+ Candidates with scores of the national higher education entrance exam in 2016, 2017 and 2018 have reached the quality assurance threshold:
For the teacher training program: Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) define the quality assurance threshold for intake, HDU builds the selection criteria (with detailed notice)
For other programs: for bachelor’s programs, based on scores of the national higher education entrance exam, the university will determine the quality assurance threshold for intake and publicize it on the mass media (attached detailed notice on study programs and selection criteria)
for associate’s programs, high school graduates;
- Application process
+ For the first selection stage: Candidates submit the application form for the national higher education entrance exam and for bachelor’s and associate’s programs under the guidance of MOET.
+ For additional selection consideration: Candidate submits application form by post, online or directly at Division of training management.

+ High-school graduates
+ Quality assurance threshold: for bachelor’s programs, GPA of selected subject group during 3 high school years average at least 5,0 out of 10; for physical education, selection is based on 2 subject group and talent score and “good” or higher ranked GPA of 12thgrade. For associate’s degree, high-school graduates; for 3 teacher training programs, candidates’ GPA must be ranked at least “good” for 12th grade.
- Application includes:
+ An application form (attached appendix 2)
+ A copy of high school academic transcripts
+ A copy of high-school degree (for students who graduate prior to 2019)
+ Priority certificate (if any)
+ 01 self-addressed stamped envelope

5. Admission for associate’s program in preschool education
a) Admission quantity: 50
b) Admission requirements: high school graduates, good or higher ranked GPA of 12th grade
c) Admission process: selection is based on GPA of 12th grade
GPA = an average of all modules + an average of math + an average of Literature + talent score
Talent exam: candidates choose either reading expressively or singing
d) Time and application process
- Time: 01/4-31/8/2019
- Application process: submit the application record by post, online or directly at Division of Training Management
- Application includes:
+ Application form for associate’s program in preschool education (attached appendix 3)
+ Copy of high-school academic transcripts
+ copy of high-school degree or temporary graduation confirmation
+ priority certificate (if any)
+ 01 self-addressed stamped envelope
+ 3x4 photo must be no older than 6 months
