Overview of the Doctoral Dissertation Evaluation Council Session.
The Council, established under the decision of the President of Hong Duc University, consisted of seven members and was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Viet Cuong. Its members included reputable scholars from Hong Duc University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Hai Phong University, CMC University, and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.

At the session, the doctoral candidate presented a summary of her dissertation, clearly outlining the research objectives, methodology, and major scientific contributions. The study focuses on proposing and developing data clustering models based on deep neural networks, with applications to feature quantization and approximate nearest neighbor search, thereby contributing to improving the efficiency of large-scale data processing and retrieval.
The Council’s reviewers and members unanimously agreed that the dissertation demonstrates strong scientific value, novelty, and appropriate research methodology. The research results were validated through experiments on multiple international benchmark datasets, showing high effectiveness and stability. Notably, the outcomes of the dissertation have been published in several prestigious national and international scientific journals and conference proceedings, including those indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dau Ba Thin emphasized that this is the first doctoral candidate in the Computer Science program of Hong Duc University to complete and defend a dissertation, marking an important milestone and a new stage of development in the University’s doctoral training in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. He acknowledged the candidate’s serious academic attitude, strong sense of responsibility, and persistent research efforts, and affirmed the University’s commitment to continued investment and support to enhance the quality of postgraduate education in close connection with scientific research and innovation.
With a serious and objective working spirit, the Specialized Academic Council unanimously concluded that the dissertation meets the required standards and is qualified for further completion in accordance with regulations, paving the way for the candidate to proceed to the doctoral dissertation defense at the University level in the near future.
