The conference was co-organized by the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and SEAMEO CELLL, gathering experts, policymakers, education leaders, and technology specialists from across the globe.
Overview of the Conference
The discussions centered on emerging trends in higher education in Singapore, with particular emphasis on the autonomy and digital transformation strategies of SUSS – one of Singapore's six autonomous universities.
Assoc. Prof. Allan Chia, Vice Provost (Academic) of SUSS, highlighted the university’s philosophy of "Inspiring Learning for Life and Social Good", reaffirming its pioneering role in promoting lifelong learning, sustainable development, and educational innovation.
The HDU delegation had the opportunity to tour key student support and training centers at SUSS, including the Teaching & Learning Center, the Student Success Centre, and the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL), where advanced AI-driven learning models are being implemented. At the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), international experts shared insights on the latest developments in AI and its applications in education.
Delegates from Hong Duc University and Other Participants at the Conference
One of the conference highlights was the presentation titled “AI Lens” by Dr. Sun Chang – Senior Advisor of Cognotiv Consulting – which explored the potential of Generative AI in personalizing education and optimizing university governance.
Another keynote that received great attention was “Organizational Transformation” by Dr. Tommy Tan, which focused on people-centered transformation models, development of future-ready skills, digital capacity enhancement, and the cultivation of adaptive leadership in response to rapid global changes in education.
Ethical considerations surrounding AI, data security, and the challenges of practical implementation were also emphasized as top priorities, calling for educational institutions to be proactive in research and adaptation.
Representing the Vietnamese delegation, Dr. Le Thi My Ha – Director of SEAMEO CELLL – emphasized the importance of international collaboration in enhancing educational capacity, especially amid the era of digital transformation and global integration.
Representatives from Hong Duc University and SEAMEO CELLL Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement
During the conference, Hong Duc University and SEAMEO CELLL signed a strategic cooperation agreement focusing on key areas: faculty and student exchanges; co-organization of international seminars and conferences across Southeast Asia, ASEAN, and globally; and the implementation of training programs to enhance the capacity of lecturers and students in alignment with the demands for high-quality human resources in Vietnam and the region.
This event marks a significant milestone, opening up new opportunities for comprehensive and meaningful international cooperation, while supporting the internationalization of education at Hong Duc University.
