On September 28, 2026, Hong Duc University participated in the School–Enterprise Cooperation Forum 2026, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training at Van Lang University in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “Connecting Training Orders for High-Quality Human Resources in Emerging Technology Sectors.” Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Mai, Vice Rector of the University, the delegation joined discussions on strengthening university–industry collaboration, explored new approaches to workforce development aligned with emerging technologies, and expanded partnerships with businesses and stakeholders to better meet labor market demands.

On September 25, 2026, the National Startup Association organized the National Startup Forum – Thanh Hoa 2026 at Hac Thanh Center, Thanh Hoa Province. Held under the theme “Startup Investment and Innovation in the Collaborative Model of Government – Universities – Businesses – International Partners,” the Forum brought together policymakers, scientists, investors, entrepreneurs, and domestic and international delegates to discuss solutions for fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development in the new era. Representing Hong Duc University (HDU), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Ba Huyen, Secretary of the University Party Committee and President of HDU, participated as a guest speaker in a panel discussion on Higher Education and Human Resource Development. During the session, he shared insights into the role of universities within the startup and innovation ecosystem, emphasizing the importance of aligning higher education with the practical needs of businesses and startups while promoting the application and commercialization of research outcomes generated by lecturers and students.

On the afternoon of September 24, 2026, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee organized a conference to meet, consult and engage in dialogue with the province’s intellectual community in 2026. The event provided a forum for provincial leaders, experts, scientists and intellectuals to exchange views and propose practical solutions to major development issues facing Thanh Hoa Province. At the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Ba Huyen, President of Hong Duc University, presented a thematic paper entitled “Feasible Solutions for Implementing the ‘Three-House’ Cooperation Model: Government – University – Business.” His presentation focused on identifying existing bottlenecks and proposing mechanisms to strengthen substantive cooperation among the three stakeholders, linking human resource training with scientific research, innovation, technology transfer and commercialization.

On September 18, 2026, the People’s Committee of Thanh Hoa Province issued Official Document No. 19775/UBND-THĐT approving the proposal for Hong Duc University (HDU) to sign a cooperation agreement with Erfurt University of Applied Sciences (EUAS), Federal Republic of Germany. The event also officially launched a university-wide emulation campaign in preparation for HDU’s 30th anniversary.

Nearly three decades of continuous growth have laid a strong foundation for a multidisciplinary institution that integrates human resource training, scientific research, and technology transfer to support the socio-economic development of Thanh Hoa Province. This milestone is particularly significant as the University enters a new phase of development following its recent merger, with expanded resources, greater scale, and broader opportunities for growth. The new stage also brings higher expectations for quality, effectiveness, innovation, and the University’s contribution to the sustainable development of Thanh Hoa and beyond.
