Hong Duc University Participates in the 2026 School–Enterprise Cooperation Forum.

07/10/2026

On September 28, 2026, Hong Duc University participated in the School–Enterprise Cooperation Forum 2026, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training at Van Lang University in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme “Connecting Training Orders for High-Quality Human Resources in Emerging Technology Sectors.” Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Mai, Vice Rector of the University, the delegation joined discussions on strengthening university–industry collaboration, explored new approaches to workforce development aligned with emerging technologies, and expanded partnerships with businesses and stakeholders to better meet labor market demands.

The Forum brought together Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan; representatives from the Department of Higher Education and the Department of Science, Technology and Information under MOET; leaders of more than 70 universities and colleges; and representatives of nearly 50 enterprises and organizations operating in information technology, artificial intelligence, finance and banking, logistics, media, and human resources.

Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan delivers a speech at the Forum

During the plenary session, representatives of the Department of Higher Education presented updates on the implementation of government projects aimed at developing high-quality human resources. In a policy-oriented presentation, representatives of the Department of Science, Technology and Information emphasized that cooperation between universities and enterprises “is no longer an option, but a necessity.” According to the report, higher education institutions contributed 83.6% of Vietnam’s total Scopus-indexed publications in 2025. However, only around 9% of research outcomes have been commercialized, while approximately 22% of lecturers in engineering and technology disciplines have practical working experience in enterprises. Training programs commissioned by businesses currently account for only about 30% of total training activities.

The Forum also highlighted one of the major challenges in university–enterprise collaboration: the gap between signed cooperation agreements and actual implementation. Many partnerships remain at the level of memoranda of understanding, student internships, or joint activities, while contracts for commissioned training, research, and technology transfer remain limited.

Based on the Politburo’s Resolutions No. 57-NQ/TW, 68-NQ/TW, and 71-NQ/TW, MOET is currently finalizing a proposal to promote the “Three-Party Cooperation Model” involving the State, educational institutions, and enterprises. The proposal is expected to be submitted to the Prime Minister for approval. Under this approach, commissioned training and research will become the primary form of cooperation, with effectiveness measured through concrete outcomes and guided by the principle of “Co-investment – Co-responsibility – Shared Benefits.”

From the perspective of the labor market, representatives of Navigos Group (VietnamWorks) noted that recruitment demand in 2026 is expected to increase compared to the 2023–2025 period, with approximately 30% of enterprises planning to prioritize the recruitment of recent graduates. This trend underscores the growing importance of strengthening connections between educational institutions and the labor market, particularly as workforce requirements continue to evolve rapidly.

Within the Forum framework, participants attended a series of specialized presentations on university–enterprise cooperation models at Van Lang University; workforce demands in the era of artificial intelligence, smart logistics, and autonomous vehicles presented by Mr. Dinh Vinh Cuong, Chairman of 365Group; and the presentation “Universities in the AI Era” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Quynh, Vice President of FISU Vietnam and Vice President of CMC University.

The presentations emphasized the need to innovate training models, strengthen the alignment between higher education programs and industry demands, and promote research, innovation, and human resource development to meet the requirements of the digital economy and emerging technology sectors.
