In the frame of the cooperation between Hong Duc University and University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Goerlitz (Germany), from 8th – 16th October 2019, a delegation of lecturers and students led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Mai – Vice Rector of the Hong Duc University officially visited University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Goerlitz. The objectives of the trip were to work with the University Management Board to discuss further cooperation between both universities and to join the Summer School Program “Cultural Exchange & Sustainable Tourism Development”. The trip was funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
During the week, lecturers and students participated in different activities of cultural & academic exchange.
The academic exchange activities including lectures on tourism in Germany & Vietnam, seminars on how to analyze and evaluate the macro factors affecting sustainable tourism development (PESTEL ANALYSIS), proposed solutions to sustainable tourism development at some selected tourist attractions (Taphin, Sapa in Vietnam and Lausitzer Seeland in Germany).
Visiting one of the institutes of the Frauenhofer (IWU) – the leading organization for applied scientific research and material technology transfer in Europe – located at the 2nd campus of the University in Zittau, has suggested a tentative cooperation in scientific research and training for the engineering branches at Hong Duc University.
One of the cultural exchange activities was to experience the Oktoberfest atmosphere and tasted draught beer at the Lanskorn brewery – a factory with a long history with product lines associated with the German beer brand.
