From May 14 to 16, 2025, Hong Duc University (HDU) sent a delegation to attend the 2025 World Digital Education Conference (WDEC 2025) held in Wuhan, China. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Education of China in collaboration with UNESCO and international partners, under the theme "Education Development and Transformation: The Intelligence Era."

Representatives from HDU included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Viet Bau – Chairman of the University Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh – Vice President, along with heads of specialized faculties. They participated in key activities such as high-level forums, AI educational technology exhibitions, thematic discussion sessions, and international partnership networking. This was a valuable opportunity for the university to update itself on global digital education trends and to establish strategic partnerships in digital transformation and AI application in teaching, governance, and research.
In alignment with Resolution 57-NQ/TW’s directive on the development of strategic technologies, HDU organized a scientific seminar titled “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Electrical Engineering and Construction” on May 22, 2025. The seminar served as an academic forum connecting scientists, lecturers, and experts to exchange and share solutions for applying AI in practical contexts.
Overview of the seminar on “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Electrical Engineering and Construction”
The seminar presentations focused on key topics such as AI integration in construction design, execution, and management; construction supervision using image recognition systems; AI-based financial planning; automation in electrical engineering; and enhancing labor safety through smart technology. These discussions not only opened new directions for technical disciplines but also helped shape training programs to meet real-world demands in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
To realize its vision of applying AI in management and teaching, HDU sent faculty and staff to participate in a training program titled “Guide to Using 12 AI Tools in University Teaching and Building an AI Chatbot System for Admissions,” organized by Vietnam E-commerce Development Co., Ltd. in Hanoi. The program equipped lecturers with familiarity in using AI tools for education, designing lectures, creating virtual teaching assistants and educational chatbots, as well as developing skills for designing digital content and using digital platforms to support teaching.

In addition, the university facilitated faculty participation in both online and in-person training programs on “Digital Mass Literacy” organized by the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Thanh Hoa. Furthermore, HDU organized two online training courses and one in-person course on “AI Applications – Artificial Intelligence” for all faculty and staff. These training courses focused on updating foundational knowledge and practical applications of AI in education, enabling faculty to quickly adopt new technologies and effectively integrate them into teaching, assessment, and scientific research activities.
This is a concrete step by HDU to fulfill the objective stated in Resolution 57-NQ/TW: “To build a number of advanced training centers and universities specialized in Artificial Intelligence; to develop a faculty team capable of teaching core technologies; and to strongly reform training programs according to international standards.”
Through active participation in international forums, organizing specialized seminars, and training a technologically competent workforce, Hong Duc University is steadily moving toward its goal of becoming a smart, modern university, pioneering the application of AI and digital technologies in education.
In the near future, the university will continue to expand international cooperation, promote research and experimentation in digital technologies, digitize management processes, and especially integrate AI into teaching across various academic disciplines. These efforts aim to contribute to the training of high-quality human resources that support the socio-economic development of the province and the country.
