Overview of the program
The event welcomed Ms. Chae Jee Won – Program Manager from SCI Korea, and Ms. Hoang Thi Minh Hang – Program Manager from SCI Vietnam. Representing Hong Duc Primary, Middle & High School were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Xuan Luong – Principal; Dr. Nguyen Van The – Vice Principal; along with homeroom teachers, Youth Union and Team leaders, high school students, and members of the “Green Hong Duc” Club.

In his opening speech, Dr. Nguyen Van The - Vice Principal of Hong Duc Primary, Middle & High School emphasized that environmental education is a core component of holistic education. Building a green school not only enhances teaching and learning quality but also fosters responsible attitudes and behaviors among students toward the community and the environment.

Talkshow on the topic “Green Schools – What Can We Do?"
A highlight of the event was an open dialogue themed “Green School – What Can We Do?” During this session, students, teachers, and guests shared and proposed many meaningful ideas such as creating creative recycling corners, developing school gardens, adopting green technologies in learning, and organizing campaigns like “No Plastic Day” and “School Earth Hour.” Students were also encouraged to create diverse media products—videos, podcasts, infographics—with messages promoting environmental protection.
Following the dialogue, the contest “Each Class, One Green Action” was officially launched, calling on each class to implement a practical green initiative that could be applied and spread across the school community. The list of participating teams was announced, marking the beginning of a series of creative environmental competitions.

The program also featured interactive activities such as demonstrations on waste separation, donation of categorized trash bins, and educational games related to environmental awareness—helping translate communication into hands-on practice.
The day concluded with a campus-wide clean-up activity in the afternoon—an action-oriented step to materialize the commitments made during the event and to spread a strong environmental message among both students and staff.

The “Green Champion” campaign and “Each Class, One Green Action” contest represent concrete steps toward building a green, clean, and beautiful educational environment. They aim to raise awareness and promote responsible action among students on global environmental issues. Through these initiatives, Hong Duc School and its partners are gradually shaping a model green school, promoting sustainable development and comprehensive education in the modern era.
