On February 6, 2021, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Thanh Hoa province, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa province and leaders of Hong Duc University and faculties, departments celebrated the Lunar New Year for Lao students who are studying at the university.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, Lao students did not return home on the occasion of the Tan Suu Lunar New Year, Hong Duc University organized self- managing and enjoining in Tet activities for Lao students to stay in their dormitory and celebrate the traditional New Year of Vietnam at the University. The University decorates the traditional Vietnamese New Year's Space and supports all physical and spiritual conditions for Lao students. That make them feel happy and experience the tradition of Vietnam in New Year celebration, well comply with security and order regulations, social safety and Covid 19 epidemic prevention.
On this occasion, the Thanh Hoa Fatherland Front, the Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa province visited, encouraged and presented Tet gifts to Lao students who are studying at the university. At the meeting, Mr. Ha Van Thuy - Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial Fatherland Front, representative of the delegation expressed the concern of the Party, the authority and people of Thanh Hoa towards Lao students studying at Thanh Hoa province in general, Hong Duc University in particular and wished Lao students a happy Vietnamese New Year; continue to overcome all difficulties, study hard to build their hometown, nation and contribute to develop a good and sustainable friendship between the two countries Vietnam – Laos.

To encourage and share with Lao students when staying at the university to welcome Vietnamese New Year, Hong Duc University awarded VND 50,000,000 and many meaningful gifts to the students. The University Labour Union also presented VND 10,000,000, contributing to a warm Tet holiday for the students.
During this Tet holiday, Hong Duc University has nearly 200 Lao students who studying undergraduate and postgraduate, the university has arranged convenient services to serve Lao students as well as organize meaningful activities . The activities help Lao students learn more about the traditional Vietnamese New Year in particular, the traditional culture of the Vietnamese people in general, and at the same time ensures that the students celebrate Tet holiday happily, healthy, safe and in accordance with regulations. Laos students experienced to make Bánh Chưng, fruits decorating, lucky money and new year wishes culture, on the same time, the Laos volley ball champion organized.
Along with the general activities of the University, all the officials and lecturers of functional departments, the training faculties have given affection and good care with many meaningful gifts, helping them feel as warm as they are in their homeland. The HDU become their family and teacher play the role of Laos student relative. Tan Suu Tet holiday passed safely and memorably with each Lao student in HDU./
