Representing Hong Duc University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh – Vice President, and Dr. Le Dinh Nghiep – Director of the Information Technology, Communication & Library Services Center, attended the seminar. Their presence underscored the university’s strong commitment to advancing digital transformation in education.
In the opening report, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Milena Bobeva (Bournemouth University, UK) – Project Leader of SOARing DX-VN – emphasized the importance of assessing digital maturity to help universities design practical and sustainable digital transformation strategies.
Dr. Le Viet Khuyen – Chairman of the Association of Universities and Colleges of Vietnam – highlighted that digital transformation in education is not only about applying technology but also about reforming governance and training models, which are crucial to enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese higher education in the global context.

From a system-wide perspective, Prof. Pham Tiet Khanh – Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Community Colleges – stressed the need to mobilize international resources, foster collaboration among institutions, and build a shared digital transformation ecosystem for exchanging experiences, tools, and solutions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mike Perkins (British University Vietnam) shared an important insight: “Digital transformation is not a destination, but a long-term journey. Success does not come from a single technology, but from the continuous adaptability of institutions and learners.” At BUV, this has been demonstrated through a comprehensive digital roadmap, covering student information management, digital learning resources, and the application of AI in teaching and learning support.

From the Vietnamese context, Dr. Tieu Thanh Thuy (Tra Vinh University) presented practical experiences in using digital maturity assessment tools to identify strengths and weaknesses, thereby shaping suitable transformation roadmaps. The key lesson learned is that successful digital transformation requires the active involvement of all lecturers and students, not just technological infrastructure.
Experts from Jisc UK and NashTech also provided an international perspective, highlighting three pillars of digital transformation in higher education: technological infrastructure, digital capabilities of staff, and data governance.

The participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh – Vice President and Dr. Le Dinh Nghiep – Director of the Information Technology, Communication & Library Services Center marked an important step for Hong Duc University, reflecting the institution’s determination to embrace digital transformation. It was also an opportunity for the university to learn from international experiences and to share its own progress in building a digital learning environment, contributing to the training of high-quality human resources for the digital era.
The seminar reaffirmed a vital message: digital transformation in education cannot be pursued in isolation but requires cooperation, sharing, and mutual support among institutions within the academic community. This is also the spirit that Hong Duc University is striving towards in its development strategy.
