Hong Duc University Reviews 2025 Activities for the Advancement of Women and Women’s Affairs

On December 19, 2025, Hong Duc University held a Conference to Review the Work for the Advancement of Women and Women’s Affairs in 2025. The conference aimed to evaluate the results of gender equality activities and initiatives supporting the advancement of women implemented over the past year, while also outlining key directions and priority tasks for the coming period

The conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Van Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President of Hong Duc University, and Head of the University’s Committee for the Advancement of Women; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Mai, Vice President and Deputy Head of the Committee; members of the Committee for the Advancement of Women; female leaders of university units; as well as representatives of the Standing Committee and the Women’s Affairs Committee of the Trade Union.

At the conference, delegates listened to the summary report on gender equality and women’s advancement in 2025. The report affirmed that throughout the year, Hong Duc University consistently focused on building an equitable educational and working environment without gender discrimination. The University issued and implemented various policies and solutions to promote the role, potential, and contributions of female staff, lecturers, civil servants, and employees.

As a result, female staff members successfully fulfilled and, in many cases, excellently completed their assigned tasks. Female managers and leaders not only achieved outstanding results in teaching and scientific research but also demonstrated strong leadership and management capacity, while balancing family responsibilities and contributing significantly to the sustainable development of Hong Duc University.

Communication and dissemination of laws and policies on gender equality were strengthened through diverse and effective forms. Gender equality content was integrated into training programs, professional activities, and political education sessions. Numerous news articles and reports were published on the University’s website and communication channels, contributing to raising awareness and promoting positive behavioral change regarding gender equality among staff, lecturers, and students.

In addition, the Party Committee, the Board of Rectors, and the Committee for the Advancement of Women paid close attention to the training, development, and promotion of female staff. In 2025, the University had a female Vice President, 32 female staff members holding leadership and management positions at departmental and unit levels, along with many women serving as heads of divisions, academic departments, and mass organizations. These achievements clearly reflect progress in gender equality in political participation and educational management. Efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based violence were also effectively implemented in association with union activities and student support services.

In his keynote speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Van Dung, President of Hong Duc University, highly appreciated and commended the efforts and achievements of female staff, the Committee for the Advancement of Women, and the Women’s Affairs Committee of the Trade Union in 2025. He emphasized that gender equality and women’s advancement are not the responsibility of any single unit, but a shared responsibility of the entire political system within the University. He also urged all units to continue creating favorable conditions for female staff and lecturers to further develop their capacities and participate more actively in leadership, management, and professional activities.

The conference also provided an opportunity for delegates to discuss and share experiences in balancing family life, health, and professional responsibilities in teaching, scientific research, and management. The Committee for the Advancement of Women highlighted existing limitations and proposed solutions to further improve the effectiveness of women’s advancement work in the coming period, contributing to the development of Hong Duc University as a sustainable, equitable, and humane educational institution.
