Thanh Hoa: Hong Duc University to Host “Mathematics and Applications” Conference Gathering Domestic and International Scientists

06/05/2026

Thanh Hoa is steadily emerging as an international academic hub as Hong Duc University prepares to host the International Conference on “Mathematics and Applications” on May 22–23, 2026. The event is expected to gather a distinguished community of professors, associate professors, and researchers from the United States, China, Thailand, and across Vietnam.

A key highlight of the conference is the participation of renowned scholars from both domestic and international institutions. Notable contributors include Prof. Zhou Zupeng from Guilin University of Electronic Technology (China), an expert in optimization and robotics; Assoc. Prof. Samruam Baupradist from Chulalongkorn University (Thailand), specializing in algebra; Prof. Dinh Quang Hai from Kent State University (USA), who will present online on recent advances in coding theory; and Assoc. Prof. Tran Hung from the University of Texas (USA), representing contemporary trends in applied mathematics research.

According to the program, the afternoon of May 22 will feature specialized sessions where professors and associate professors will deliver lectures and engage in in-depth academic discussions with faculty members and postgraduate students. Prof. Zhou Zupeng will present on difference equations and qualitative theory, while Assoc. Prof. Samruam Baupradist will lead discussions on ring and module theory. Vietnamese researchers will also contribute with analyses of problems in evolution equations and algebra–geometry.

On the morning of May 23, the conference will move into its plenary session, showcasing a range of advanced research topics. These include Prof. Dinh Quang Hai’s presentation on coding over finite fields, Prof. Zhou Zupeng’s research on trajectory optimization for tree-climbing robots, and Assoc. Prof. Samruam Baupradist’s work on soft module theory. Notably, the conference will also introduce an emerging topic that integrates artificial intelligence with digital storytelling in mathematics teaching—an innovative approach in modern education.

Following the plenary session, the conference will be divided into three specialized sections: Analysis (covering differential equations, Navier–Stokes equations, and dynamical systems), Algebra (including graph theory of rings and decentralized finance models), and Mathematics Education (focusing on AI applications, STEM, and self-regulated learning).

The organizing committee emphasized that the conference extends beyond pure mathematics to encompass rapidly evolving fields such as data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, control, and modeling, as well as innovation in teaching methods and digital transformation in education. This interdisciplinary approach not only appeals to researchers but also attracts educators, students, administrators, and technology enthusiasts.

The conference is expected to serve as a vital bridge connecting Hong Duc University with leading research centers both domestically and internationally. It will contribute to strengthening academic collaboration and enhancing the university’s scholarly reputation in the context of global integration.
