At the meeting, HDU introduced its history of development, academic programs, research activities, and international cooperation. In his welcome remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh expressed his delight in welcoming Ms. Lynna Vo, emphasizing: “The presence of a Fulbright ETA will not only enhance the quality of foreign language teaching at HDU but also open up opportunities for cultural exchange and international integration for our staff, lecturers, and students.” He also affirmed that the university is committed to creating the best conditions for Ms. Vo to engage in teaching, professional activities, and cultural experiences in Thanh Hoa.

In her speech, Ms. Lynna Vo shared her excitement about joining HDU, expressing her hope to collaborate with faculty members in delivering dynamic English lessons, helping students improve communication skills, and contributing to meaningful extracurricular activities.
According to the plan, from September 2025 to June 2026, Ms. Lynna Vo will teach up to 14 hours per week, focusing on listening, speaking, and pronunciation skills for students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and pupils of Hong Duc Primary, Middle & High School. In addition, she will participate in the Aloha English Club, support faculty members in professional exchange, advise students on effective learning methods, and attend Vietnamese classes twice a week to enhance daily communication.
Overview of the session
The Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Program has been implemented in Vietnam since the 2008–2009 academic year, aiming to support English teaching and learning at gifted high schools, colleges, and universities outside Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The U.S. Embassy fully sponsors the program, covering round-trip airfare, living expenses, and insurance with a total value of nearly USD 17,000. Meanwhile, HDU will provide accommodation, transportation, and other necessary support to ensure the ETA’s successful teaching and cultural experience.

The meeting concluded with an agreement on the coordination plan, with the shared expectation that the presence of the Fulbright ETA will foster English learning, improve training quality, and strengthen the international cooperation of Hong Duc University in the coming time.
