Prof. Dr. Ngô Chí Thành – Vice President, along with Heads of the Science, Technology & International Cooperation Office; the Information Technology, Communication & Library Services Center; faculty leaders, department heads, and students from the Faculty of Engineering, Technology & Communication, welcomed and worked with the delegation.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngô Chí Thành – Vice President, briefly introduced the university’s recent achievements and past cooperation efforts with Germany. He emphasized that over the years, partnerships with German institutions have played a vital role in the university’s development. Many faculty members and students have had the opportunity to study in Germany. He expressed the university’s strong desire to collaborate with HWK Erfurt in training high-quality human resources in fields such as information technology, semiconductors, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, in line with the needs of German enterprises planning to invest in Thanh Hoa. He also proposed jointly organizing international conferences on socio-economic development and forming collaborative research groups to contribute to the sustainable development of both countries and localities.
Mr. Thomas Malcherek – CEO of HWK Erfurt speaks at the session
Mr. Thomas Malcherek introduced HWK Erfurt as a prestigious vocational training organization specializing in automotive technology, welding, refrigeration, mechanical engineering, and renewable energy. HWK Erfurt offers both short- and long-term training programs with specific German language proficiency and tuition requirements. He also shared information on the vocational education and training (VET) programs that HWK Erfurt is currently implementing, including summer camps in Germany lasting 3 to 6 weeks, joint training programs in Vietnam and Germany lasting 1 to 2 years, and the 3+1 model (3 years in Vietnam and 1 year in Germany).

During the meeting, HDU and HWK Erfurt also discussed several potential collaborative programs, such as teacher training, student exchange, and international technical summer camps. These initiatives are expected to provide HDU lecturers and students with valuable exposure to European culture and educational practices.
