Prof. Dr. Nguyen Manh An, former President of Hong Duc University, along with alumni from Thanh Hoa province who previously studied and participated in academic exchange programs at the University of Zielona Góra.

Representing Hong Duc University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Viet Bau, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Van Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University; together with leaders and representatives from relevant departments and units, including the Science, Technology & International Cooperation Office; the Personnel Organization & Administration Office; the Planning & Finance Office; the Information Technology, Communication & Library Services Center; the International Education Center; the Faculty of Natural Sciences; the Faculty of Engineering, Technology & Communication; as well as lecturers and staff who have participated in exchange and study programs at the University of Zielona Góra.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Van Dung emphasized that the partnership between Hong Duc University and the University of Zielona Góra has gone beyond academic exchanges to become a sustainable, effective, and exemplary model of international cooperation in higher education. He highlighted that more than ten years of collaboration stand as clear evidence of the shared vision and serious investment of both institutions, and reaffirmed Hong Duc University’s strong commitment to further promoting academic exchanges, research collaboration, and capacity building to enhance educational quality and institutional reputation.

On behalf of the University of Zielona Góra, Prof. Dr. Sci. Cao Long Van highly appreciated the proactiveness, responsibility, and cooperative spirit of Hong Duc University. He affirmed that the University of Zielona Góra would continue to support the expansion of scholarship programs, strengthen exchanges of faculty members, researchers, and students, and promote cooperation in scientific research and high-quality human resource training—areas where both universities share strong potential and common interests.

At the meeting, the delegation from the University of Zielona Góra presented a commemorative medal to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Van Dung, President of Hong Duc University, as a symbol of the strong partnership and mutual appreciation between the two institutions.

Both sides reviewed key milestones since the cooperation agreement was signed in 2012. To date, the collaboration has yielded significant outcomes: 12 learners from Hong Duc University, including 4 lecturers, have studied at the University of Zielona Góra; 16 delegations from the University of Zielona Góra have visited and worked at Hong Duc University; and 11 delegations of lecturers, staff, and learners from Hong Duc University have traveled to Poland for study, research, and academic exchange. Many participants have obtained degrees recognized as equivalent to European standards, opening up valuable international career opportunities.

Notable highlights of the cooperation include joint training programs such as the 1+3 and 4+1 models, along with participation in the Erasmus Plus scholarship program. In particular, lecturers from Hong Duc University have received PhD scholarships from the Polish National Science Centre under the European Regional Development Fund, enabling advanced research at prestigious European institutions. In 2020, a postgraduate student from Hong Duc University was awarded a master’s degree recognized as equivalent to European standards, marking an important step in the university’s international integration process.
In the field of scientific research, cooperation between the two universities has achieved impressive results. The Photonic Fiber Research Group of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at Hong Duc University, in collaboration with scientists from the University of Zielona Góra and the University of Warsaw, has published 20 national and international scientific papers and successfully implemented one provincial-level project, one NAFOSTED-funded project, and two institutional-level projects, thereby enhancing the university’s research profile.

Looking ahead, both institutions agreed to further consolidate existing achievements and deepen cooperation in the next phase. Priority areas include maintaining effective student and staff exchanges through the Erasmus Plus program; expanding the 4+1 training program; increasing postgraduate scholarship opportunities to develop high-quality human resources; and establishing an international-standard Photonic Fiber Laboratory at Hong Duc University with support from the University of Zielona Góra in terms of training, equipment assistance, and research collaboration. In addition, the two sides agreed to broaden research cooperation into new fields beyond natural sciences, including economics and business administration, social sciences, education, and information technology, ensuring that cooperation remains multidisciplinary, practical, and sustainable.

The meeting took place in a formal, open, and cooperative atmosphere. The discussions, assessments, and commitments made during the session further strengthened the strategic partnership between Hong Duc University and the University of Zielona Góra, laying a solid foundation for continued collaboration in education, scientific research, and international engagement. This event represents not only a significant milestone in Hong Duc University’s international integration process, but also opens up new opportunities for lecturers, students, and researchers from both institutions to access advanced knowledge and actively participate in the global higher education network.
