The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngô Chí Thành – Vice President of Hồng Đức University; heads and lecturers from the Faculty of Social Sciences; and representatives from relevant departments.
Overview of the working session
During the session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngô Chí Thành - Vice President highlighted the university’s long-standing and fruitful cooperation with various French institutions. Notable achievements include the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Tours and successful implementation of collaborative programs in education, scientific research, faculty and student exchange, credit recognition, and joint research publications. Each year, the university also partners with Campus France and the French Embassy in Vietnam to introduce French higher education and postgraduate scholarship opportunities to its staff and students.
Expressing his hopes for further collaboration, Dr. Thành emphasized the university's strong interest in expanding cooperation with the University of Toulouse, especially in the fields of climate change, environmental studies, and the GaaS project.

Professor Dominique Laffly conveyed his appreciation for the warm welcome and introduced the GaaS project, led by the University of Toulouse. The initiative brings together 15 universities from France, Italy, and Vietnam, including Hồng Đức University. The project aims to explore the role of geography as a service-oriented discipline through interdisciplinary cooperation and technological integration.
As part of the working session, Professor Laffly guided Hồng Đức University’s lecturers in registering institutional information on the European Union’s project portal, enabling the university to officially join the GaaS initiative and become eligible for project funding. He also discussed the university’s potential role in implementing various project components and shared valuable experience in building and applying for funding under the Erasmus+ program.

This meeting not only opened new avenues for international collaboration but also offered Hồng Đức University an opportunity to strengthen its connection with European academic networks, gain insights into project development and fundraising, and ultimately enhance the capacity and expertise of its academic staff.
