Launched on March 1, 2025, and sponsored by Save the Children International (SCI), the Green Innovation Incubation Program at Hong Duc University has gone beyond supporting project teams in refining their products and business models. It also aimed to prepare participants for competitive fundraising and fostered a thriving startup ecosystem. The program provided ideal networking conditions, linking startups with mentors, investors, and the entrepreneurial community, while strengthening critical skills in project management, marketing, finance, and legal frameworks.
Dr. Le Van Cuong shared:
"We believe that passion and creativity alone are not enough for a startup to succeed. A clear roadmap and comprehensive support are essential. This incubation program was created to empower young entrepreneurs to realize their dreams - especially in the ‘green’ sector - toward a sustainable future."
The incubation journey was structured into three scientifically designed phases, each lasting one month:
Phase 1 (Weeks 1–4): Product Exploration and Development – Project teams assessed their current status, formulated detailed development plans, and participated in workshops on market analysis, customer targeting, product refinement, marketing, and fundraising strategies.
Phase 2 (Weeks 5–8): Growth and Networking – Projects were connected with potential partners and received one-on-one mentoring and coaching sessions with leading experts, providing tailored guidance and strategic development support.
Phase 3 (Weeks 9–12): Finalization and Pitch Preparation – Teams finalized their business plans and investor dossiers, and improved their presentation skills through mock pitching sessions with simulated investors, preparing them for Demo Day.
Out of a rigorous selection process, three outstanding projects were selected for intensive incubation, all showcasing innovative solutions for community and environmental challenges:
Smart Desktop Air Purifier – A practical solution to improve indoor air quality, aiming to enhance well-being in homes and workplaces.
AI-Powered Hand Gesture Recognition for Robotic Arm in Hazardous Waste Treatment – Demonstrating the potential of advanced technology and AI in tackling complex environmental issues.
GreenHero: Living Green with Your Child – A mobile application that provides environmental education for children, instilling green values in the younger generation through an engaging, tech-friendly platform.
Each project has made significant progress—from initial concepts to functional products or models—highlighting the effectiveness of the incubation program.
The pinnacle of the program, HDU Demo Day 2025 – Hong Duc University Investment Connection Day, will take place from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on June 14, 2025, at Hall 302, Administration Building, Main Campus of Hong Duc University. This exciting event offers a platform for the public to witness the achievements of the incubated projects and paves the way for future investments.
Guests will have the opportunity to explore the product exhibition zone, featuring the GreenHero demo app, a prototype of the robotic arm for wastewater treatment, and the smart air purifier. The highlight of the event will be the Pitching Session, where the three incubated teams and four other promising projects will present their ideas, business models, and growth potential before a panel of judges and investors.
The additional projects include:
Hydroponic Vegetable Growing Models and Products
Production of Organic Disinfectant from Kitchen Waste
Nutritious Powder from Green Vegetables
Application of Siam Weed in Domestic Wastewater Treatment
HDU Demo Day 2025 is not only a conclusion to the incubation program but also a vital bridge that connects young entrepreneurs with the resources and opportunities needed for further development. This event affirms Hong Duc University’s commitment to fostering innovation and contributing to the region’s and the nation’s sustainable socio-economic growth.
The Organizing Committee cordially invites distinguished guests, investors, media representatives, the startup community, and all staff, lecturers, and students to attend and join hands in building a greener and more prosperous future.
