The Council consisted of seven members and was chaired by Prof. Dr. Chuc Anh Tu from the Academy of Finance. The session was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh, Vice President of Hong Duc University, along with representatives from the Science, Technology & International Cooperation Office and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
The research team developed a set of criteria for measuring CSR disclosure levels of listed cement companies—a scientific and highly applicable tool. Based on extensive surveys and data analysis, the study revealed that CSR disclosure practices in the cement industry remain limited and inconsistent across different aspects. The findings highlight that institutional pressures, board of directors’ characteristics, and corporate awareness significantly influence the extent of CSR disclosure. The project also proposed a system of policy implications to support regulatory bodies and enterprises in enhancing transparency, linking business operations with sustainable development goals.
In addition to in-depth reports, the project exceeded its initial objectives by publishing four scientific papers (three international, one domestic) and contributing to the training of two master’s students.
Overview of the project evaluation meeting
Research outcomes will be transferred to the State Securities Commission of Vietnam, the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchanges, and listed cement enterprises, thereby helping to raise awareness and improve CSR disclosure practices. Moreover, the study serves as a valuable reference for teaching and research at Hong Duc University.
The Council evaluated the project as excellent, affirming its scientific significance, practical relevance, and strong applicability. This achievement not only reflects the research efforts of Hong Duc University’s faculty members but also provides important guidance for enterprises in implementing CSR, thereby promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam’s cement industry and stock market.
