Scientific Conference on "Green Technology and Sustainable Development" Held at Hong Duc University

On May 22, 2025, Hong Duc University successfully hosted a scientific conference titled "Green Technology and Sustainable Development."

The event attracted a diverse group of participants, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh – Vice President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Hieu – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration; Dr. Nguyen Thi Viet Hung – Deputy Head of Science, Technology, and International Cooperation Office; along with numerous scientists, experts, lecturers, and postgraduate researchers with a strong interest in technology and sustainability.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Tran Thi Thu Huong – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration – emphasized the crucial role of green technology in the face of global challenges such as climate change and the depletion of natural resources. She highlighted that the conference served as a valuable academic platform for exchanging ideas, proposing innovative research directions, and identifying solutions to promote sustainable development through the effective integration of economic growth and environmental protection.

Dr. Huong encouraged all participants to engage in in-depth discussions on both theoretical and practical aspects of green technology development. She underlined the importance of collaboration among stakeholders — including governments, businesses, researchers, and the public — in the collective effort to shift towards a green growth model.

The conference received a wide range of high-quality papers from scholars, academic staff, and policymakers from inside and outside the university. These papers revolved around seven key thematic areas:

  • Theoretical frameworks on green economy and business environment

  • Corporate social responsibility

  • Opportunities and challenges at the local level

  • International experiences

  • Policies and technological solutions for sustainable development

  • “The Impact of Green Logistics on the Competitiveness of E-Commerce Enterprises in Thanh Hoa” by M.Sc. Le Thi Thuy Linh

  • “Corporate Social Responsibility and Green Economic Development in Thanh Hoa: Current Situation and Recommendations” by PhD candidate Do Van Nhat and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Loan

  • “Green Economic Development – An Inevitable Need in the Context of Globalization” by M.Sc. Nguyen Thuy Linh

  • “International Experiences and Lessons for Vietnam in Developing a Green Economy” by Dr. Trinh Thi Thuy and M.Sc. Nguyen Thi Nga

These presentations were praised for their scientific rigor and strong connections to real-world economic and environmental challenges. They provided valuable insights, especially in the context of Thanh Hoa province’s ongoing efforts to attract investment and restructure its economy towards a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable model.
