The delegation from HWK Erfurt was led by Mr. Thomas Malcherek, Chief Executive Officer, along with experts in education, recruitment, and international cooperation. Representing Hong Duc University were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Ba Huyen, President of the University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dau Ba Thin, Vice President; as well as leaders of various departments and a large number of interested students.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Ba Huyen highlighted the University’s achievements and emphasized that expanding international partnerships—particularly with Germany, a country renowned for its advanced vocational education system—is a key strategic priority. He noted that such cooperation provides students with access to modern learning environments and serves as an important gateway to the global labor market.

In response, Mr. Thomas Malcherek expressed his strong impression of the effective collaboration between Hong Duc University and German partners in recent years. He reaffirmed HWK Erfurt’s commitment to continuing its partnership with the University in developing high-quality vocational training programs aligned with the practical needs of businesses and the German labor market.
During the session, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on training programs and faculty development in technical fields such as Electrical Engineering and Construction. They also explored opportunities to expand short-term training courses in Germany aimed at enhancing professional competencies and updating technological knowledge. Notably, vocational study-abroad programs were identified as a practical and promising direction for human resource development.

Under these programs, graduates in technical disciplines may have opportunities to work in Germany in their trained fields, provided they meet language requirements. Meanwhile, students from other disciplines can participate in diverse vocational training programs tailored to labor market demands. The two sides also discussed participation requirements, support policies, and career development pathways, laying a solid foundation for future implementation.

As part of the program, the HWK Erfurt delegation directly introduced vocational study opportunities in Germany to Hong Duc University students. The interactive session was lively and engaging, with numerous practical questions regarding admission criteria, costs, language requirements, and employment prospects. Clear and transparent information from the German partners helped students gain a better understanding of studying and building careers in one of Europe’s leading economies.

On this occasion, representatives of HWK Erfurt also awarded certificates of participation in the CRAFT project to selected students, recognizing their proactive spirit and readiness for international integration. The CRAFT project is a vocational training and employment initiative for international workers in the state of Thuringia, contributing to a sustainable bridge between education and the labor market.

With a strong foundation of cooperation with prestigious universities and educational organizations in Germany, Hong Duc University continues to affirm its position within the global academic network. Although the event has concluded, it has opened new doors—not only to vocational study opportunities in Germany but also to a broader journey of integration, growth, and self-affirmation for Hong Duc University students on the international stage.
