The program was attended by Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Van, Deputy Head of the Consular and Border Affairs Division of Thanh Hoa Department of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Trinh Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam–Laos Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa City; and representatives of Thanh Hoa Provincial Police. From Hong Duc University, attendees included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh, Vice President of the University and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam–Laos Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa Province, along with representatives of various departments, organizations, staff, lecturers, and students. Notably, the event welcomed the participation of 109 Lao students currently studying at the University.

In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Chi Thanh extended his New Year wishes to the Lao students and reaffirmed the University’s ongoing commitment to providing favorable conditions for their study, research, and personal development in a friendly, safe, and internationally integrated educational environment. He also expressed sincere appreciation for the support and cooperation of provincial departments and agencies in caring for and assisting Lao students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Thanh emphasized that Bunpimay is not only a traditional festival of the Lao people but also a vivid symbol of the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos. He highly appreciated the University’s sense of responsibility in supporting Lao students both academically and in daily life. He also encouraged the students to continue serving as “cultural ambassadors,” contributing to the preservation and development of the longstanding, faithful, and pure relationship between the two nations.

She sincerely thanked the lecturers for their dedication and affirmed that Lao students would continue striving in their studies, comply with University regulations and Vietnamese laws, and aim to become high-quality human resources contributing to Laos’ future development.

The celebration also featured a range of vibrant cultural activities, including musical performances welcoming the New Year, traditional rituals, culinary exchanges, and the Lao Lamvong dance. These activities were conducted in a joyful and respectful atmosphere, fostering deeper cultural exchange and connection among students from both countries.
