Attending the meeting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuc; representatives of the University’s functional departments and offices; leaders and lecturers from the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Hong Duc Primary, Secondary and High School; as well as staff members assigned to provide academic and Vietnamese language support. Representing the Fulbright Program was Ms. Anya Jennene Bratic, the English Teaching Assistant appointed by the U.S. Embassy.

In her welcoming remarks, Vice President Nguyen Thi Thuc warmly greeted Ms. Anya Jennene Bratic and expressed her pleasure at the assistant’s arrival at Hong Duc University. She emphasized that HDU highly values international educational cooperation, particularly programs supported by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy. Over the years, the University has hosted five Fulbright experts and teaching assistants, whose contributions have significantly enhanced English language proficiency, supported the development of language clubs, and promoted a multicultural academic environment for staff and students.

Expressing her gratitude for the warm reception, Ms. Anya Jennene Bratic shared her honor and excitement at joining Hong Duc University. She expressed her appreciation for the University’s thoughtful preparation and affirmed her commitment to supporting students in improving their English language skills. She also looked forward to participating in cultural exchange activities and integrating into the local community.
According to the working plan, the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant will undertake several key responsibilities, including providing intensive support in listening, speaking, and pronunciation skills for students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages; creating opportunities for authentic English communication practice; promoting Vietnamese–American cultural exchange; and collaborating in the organization of extracurricular English activities for students at Hong Duc Primary, Secondary and High School.

To ensure the effectiveness of the program, Vice President Nguyen Thi Thuc assigned relevant departments, faculties, and units to closely coordinate in providing the best possible conditions for the teaching assistant, including facilities, academic management, Vietnamese language support, and daily living arrangements.
